Why Bamboo Countertops?

Paper Countertops

Environmental Considerations

Bamboo is a rapidly renewable grass that when engineered into slab material makes an incredibly durable and hard countertop. Hardwoods such as maple and heart pine are traditional butcher-block choices, which can be soured from certified forests maintaining healthy ecosystems. Reclaimed woods such as Douglas fir, mesquite and teak are ideal in places where you want to show off the character and story of a wood that was once destined for the landfill. All countertops are installed with natural food grade sealers.

Common use

Traditional butcher block was used in the kitchen to cook and prepare meals. People enjoy the mobile butcher-block cabinet as a prep station holding knives, herbs and spices. Bar tops in kitchens, pubs and wineries surfaced from wood make a more comfortable and warm space for gussets to enjoy.

Style Variety

Common butcher-block is laminated maple strips 1 ½” thick, but don’t feel you have to conform to tradition. For a rustic feel choose large chunks of varying sizes, color and grains of wood joined together or choose a more modern bamboo herringbone pattern with repeating geometric sizes woven among each other.
