Marmoleum Cocoa embraces our ethos of sustainable design and truly is a new addition to our Marmoleum flooring.  By adding Cocoa shells to the traditional Marmoleum ingredients Forbo has created a new and exciting surface texture that is both natural looking and contemporary in feel. The inclusion of cocoa adds a rich granular look that is fresh, modern and also provides dirt hiding properties.

Marmoleum Cocoa: natural innovation

The Dutch region ‘De Zaanstreek’ - the region where our Marmoleum factory is located - is an area where a lot of cocoa is being produced and processed.  This gave us the inspiration for our new Cocoa floor covering; A combination of our sustainable Marmoleum flooring mixed with cocoa husks. The tough cocoa husks are the rest product of cocoa production. We collect them and grind them finely and spread them onto the Marmoleum. The Cocoa husks itself have facets of different colors and give the floor a unique granular look & feel.

Or take a look at the embossed Slate design that combines the aesthetics of stone with the warmth & purity of Marmoleum flooring. Watch our video and explore how distinctive Marmoleum can be with our Solid ranges Cocoa, Concrete, Piano, Slate & Walton.

Defining pure spaces

Our renewed Marmoleum Solid collection presents 5 individual floor textures that provide the foundation for creating pure distinctive modern spaces. This innovative linoleum flooring range combines several levels of plainness with exciting twists of color and structure. Think about the embossed Marmoleum Slate or Marmoleum Cocoa with added cocoa shells, or Marmoleum Concrete where shimmers of color have been added into the plain surface. This makes Solid flooring either the eye catcher of the room or the subtle surface on which other materials can accelerate.

Marmoleum: the most sustainable flooring choice

97% natural raw materials
72% rapidly renewable
43% recycled content

High performance created by nature - Created from natural, renewable materials, Marmoleum flooring is the most sustainable resilient flooring available. It contains no phthalates, no plasticisers and no mineral oil. The key raw materials used in the Marmoleum production include:

  • linseed oil, which comes from the flax plant seeds
  • wood flour from controlled forests and
  • jute, the natural backing onto which the linoleum is calandered.

Marmoleum has been measured against all of the important sustainable global eco labels like e.g. Nordic Swan and the Blue Angel.

Topshield2 is Forbo Floorings' high performance UV-finish which is applied to all Marmoleum floor coverings. Topshield2 prevents staining, scuffing and scratching for lasting appearance retention and provides for easy cleaning and maintenance at lower intervals.
